Tillandsia purpurea Shooting Star is a legitimate form of T. purpurea but the leaves are stacked on top of each other so that when you look down on the plant, the leaves form a star shape. When the leaves grow one above the other like this, the plant is said to be? stellate. This stellate shape becomes especially true when the plant is grown vertically over time.? Tillandsia purpurea Shooting Star also produce a huge number of vegetative offsets and it produces a brightly colorful, purple inflorescence, wonderfully fragrant flowers (a unique cinammon smell), and many, many offsets. It likes bright light and to not be moist for extended periods.
