Tillandsia cacticola (kahk-TIH-coe-la) is a rare species that produces one of the most exquisite, long lasting inflorescences that is a wonderfully attractive lavender. It is not prolific, normally producing just one or two offsets after it blooms. It prefers warmer, brighter conditions. Like with other tillandsias, if the leaf edges begin to curl up toward each other more than normal, it is time to submerge it in water for 12 to 14 hours.

As you can see in one of the photos, there is a most interesting small form of T. cacticola that has managed to grow in a complete circle and then send its head out through the circle!
