Tillandsia albida (AHL-bee-dah) is a caulescent (stem-growing) species that can form a large clump in just several years. The white leaves are stiff in comparison with Tillandsia incarnata, a species that it closely resembles in the non-blooming state. The rhachis and floral bracts are a most colorful crimson. The flowers of are the typical, cylindrical corollas with exserted stamens and stigma of subgenus Tillandsia but they are a cream color which is rare. This species prefers bright light and it thrives in warmer to hot temperatures.
