Neoregelia cruenta is a large growing species with broad, stiff leaves that can become an almost brilliant chartreuse to yellow in bright light.  This species will do well with more light/direct sun than most other Neos.  Also, in bright light, the leaf tips become a cherry to maroon color as does the cup when it comes into bloom.  Altogether a most outstanding species that can grow to be 90 cm. It produces a good number of offsets as well!
