Tillandsia xerographica is one of the most stunning and unique looking of all the Tillandsia. We have grown specimens to well over 60 CM. We've grown our plants from seeds and they are close to 25 years old. Tillandsia xerographica likes bright light. If you have it outside, make sure any water in the spaces among the leaf bases stays fresh and doesn't become stagnant because the center of the plant can rot if bacteria get started. If you have the plant indoors dump any water out of it after watering it.

Also, this species is on Appendix II of CITES which means that it needs an extra $50, Federal Phytosanitary Certificate for those T. xerographica sent out to other countries. The amount is the same whether you get one plant or 100. It is also true for T. harrisii and T. kammii.
