Vriesea cereicola looks like a Tillandsia but it isn't because of the tiny flaps of tissue on the inside bottom of the flower petals. The plant grows to be some 60 CM across, has a wonderful inflorescence and produces new offsets on long stolons (runners). Because of the tomentum of trichomes (white leaves), it prefers bright light.
