Tillandsia rothii is simply one of the most spectacular tillandsias. As you can see from the one foot ruler, it can grow quite large and colorful. It is similar in appearance to Tillandsia xerographica but the leaves are an attractive yellow-green, not silver-gray. Of course, the inflorescence is very different. This species is an introgressive hybrid between Tillandsia roland-gosselini and Tillandsia jaliscomonticola.
