Tillandsia rectifolia is a species that is called an introgressive hybrid, that is, it is a hybrid of Tillandsia ionantha and Tillandsia schiedeana that became so numerous that it is now deserving of being described as its own species. Tillandsia jaliscomonticola and Tillandsia ehlersiana are two other introgressive hybrids. Tillandsia rectifolia has soft, fuzzy leaves and beautiful symmetry to it.
