If someone REALLY put me on the spot to pick my favorite species of Tillandsia, after a huge amount of procrastination, I would have to say it's Tillandsia duratii. It produces more fragrant flowers for a longer period of time than any other species. My friend, Dr. Mark Dimmitt, has told me that it is the only species that will grow outside all year in Tucson, AZ. It has the most incredible shape. What a great species!
